It was surely overdue. But none were available to bell the cat. To the rescue was undisputedly the Goa Bachao Abhiyan. Its firebrand speakers from various walks of life had ignited the torch in 2007 and its flame was passed on from cities and villages to wards and to every Goan who was stirred up from his slumber. It was like an Olympic torch blazing in Goa. And political greedboxes merely watched helplessly. Goans have now learnt to ask.
Our disorganised sense of Goanness which was continously ravaged upon by the craftiness of our empty hearted politicans who had discovered that our murmurs of displeasure were easy to quell had reached its boiling point . Now those murmurs had reached their saturation. We are uncharacteristically prepared to raise our voices. We want answers. And there are very few. We are now galvanised with a sense befitting our duty towards our land. We may win or we may not. However we have atleast learnt that we have a right to fight back. After all it is we who will be left without our shirts if we allow such madness in the loud name of development and progress.
Our politicians are at their wits end. Their electoral spendings refund and the massive extra premium over those spendings have suddenly receded. They are mourning. Their greed has found a strange enemy whom they least expected. The Goencar.Their corrupt turnover in this year has been dismal. And they will be pulling their hair that it has nothing to do with the global economic meltdown. Goans are melting their hopes. Lets hope their turnover becomes nil in 2009.
